Ramakkalmedu is a small hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala. Ramakkalmedu is located about 15km from Nedumkandom on the Munnar-Thekkady route.

One can have breathtaking view of the tamilnadu villages from the hill tops in Ramakkalmedu. Ramakkalmedu is derived from Rama-kal-medu (Rama’s foot on the rock). It is believed that the Epic hero Rama set foot on the hill top rock while he was on search for his wife Sita.

Eventhough Ramakkalmedu has a good potential for tourism, not much have been done for its development.
