Traditional Fish Curry
Traditional Fish Curry - Any big fish like Seer Fish, can be used for preparing Traditional Kerala Fish Curry. This is a very delicious dish and is made in Kerala homes very often.
Ingredients
Fish - any big fish like Seer Fish
Ginger - 1 inch piece, thinly sliced
Garlic - 5-6 flakes cut into small pieces
Small Onions - 3-4 nos thinly sliced
Green Chillies - 2 nos
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Kukum Star (Kudum Puli) - 3 pieces soaked in water
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 springs
Salt - as required
Oil - 2 tsp
Method
Clean the fish and cut them into medium size pieces.
Heat Oil in a pan. Add fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds along with curry leaves.
Add Chilli powder, Coriander powder and turmeric powder. Fry them for a minute.
Saute Ginger, garlic and green chillies for some time.
Add the soaked Kudum Puli along with water and salt.
When the mixture starts boiling, add fish fillets and cook it for 5-10 minutes.
Serve with boiled rice.
