Grandmas Fish Curry
Grandma's Fish Curry is a different fish curry. This recipe is taken from Vanitha Pachakam under the title 'Prasastharum Bhakshanavum'.
Ingredients
Fish diced - 5 pieces
Onion/shallots - 10 chopped
Tomato cut into small pieces - 1 small
Green chilly chopped - 4
Fenugreek seeds (Uluva)- 1/4 tsp
Coconut Oil - 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 pinch
Chilly powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Tamarind soaked in water - a gooseberry sized
Method
Heat oil in a pan and splutter fenugreek seeds and fry onions for a few seconds.
Add in tomatoes and green chillies and sauté for some more time.
When oil separates, add chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt and fry for two minutes.
Add the tamarind water after sieving.
Add Coconut and cumin and boil for three minutes.
Add fish pieces. Cover and cook for few minutes.
Take the curry from heat and serve hot with Rice.
