Ellu Kozhi
Ellu Kozhi (Seasme Chicken) is a very tasty, hot and dry chicken preparation.
Ingredients
Chicken pieces - 1 kg
Ginger-garlic paste - 10g
Red Chilly Powder - 15g
Salt - as to taste
Black Seasme Seeds - 60g
White Seasme Seeds - 60g
Pepper - 25g
Green Cardamom - 3
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon Stick - 3
Fennel Seeds - 5g
Big Onion sliced - 90g
Green Chilly sliced - 12g
Ginger-garlic sliced - 10g
Sunflower Oil - 45g
Curry Leaves - 3g
Mustard Seeds - 9g
Tomato cut small - 120g
Coriander Powder - 20g
Method
Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger-garlic paste, chilly powder and salt and keep for one hour.
Heat the sunflower oil, fry the chicken pieces till done half.
Grind the seasme seeds and pepper to a fine powder without oil.
Saute curry leaves, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds and cardamom.
Add the big onions, green chilly, ginger and garlic along with this.
Add the coriander powder, Red chilly powder and saute for about one minute.
Add the chicken pieces to this masala and cook for some time.
Add the seasme seeds powder to this and saute for some more time.
