Poori - Potato Podimas

Poori & Potato Podimas is a very tasty combination, commonly favored by all in Indian homes. Ingredients For Puris:
  • Whole Wheat Flour- 1 1/2 cups
  • Maida - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 1/2 tsp + Oil for frying
  • Water - As necessary for the dough
  • Salt - As to taste
For Potato Podimas:
  • Potato Boiled and mashed - 2 cups
  • Oil - 1/2 cup
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Onion Chopped - 1/2 cup
  • Green Chilly cut round - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger cut leghthwise - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - a stem
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Salt - as to taste
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Method For Puris: Make dough with Wheat and Maida with out lumps, using oil, salt and water. Smooth dough should be spread, cut round and make pooris. For Potato Podimas: Heat oil in a pan, and splutter mustard seeds and urad dal. Saute Onion, green chillies, ginger, along with turmeric powder. Add curry leaves before the onions becomes fried up. Add water and salt and let it boil. Add lemon juice and mashed potatoes at the end. Switch off the stove when the potato mixture is mixed well. Serve with Pooris.
