Megastar Mammootty and Suresh Gopi comes together in the movie 'The King and the Commissioner', after the multi star film Twenty : 20. Renowned script writer Renji Panikkar and director Shaji Kailash are joining hands for this film after a long gap of 15 years.

The King And The Commissioner is planned as a sequel to the super hit films 'The King' and 'The Commissioner', both by Shaji Kailas – Renji Panikker duo. This pair has produced some of the finest action hits in Mollywood like Sthalathe Pradhana Payyans, Thalasthanam, Ekalayavan, Commissioner, The King etc.

In the original movie 'The King', Mammootty played the role of the District Collector Thevalliparambil Joseph Alex and he will don the same role in the sequel too. Suresh Gopi's popular character as 'Bharath Chandran IPS' was born in the movie 'The Commissioner' and a sequel to that film was also made as 'Bharath Chandran IPS'. In the new film also, Suresh Gopi will don the role of Bharath Chandran.

Initially, it was announced that Young hero Prithviraj will play the role of Bharath Chandran, but later it was confirmed that Suresh Gopi himself will do the character.

The movie will be produced by Anto Joseph. Mammootty's Playhouse will distribute the film. Reema Sen and Samvrutha Sunil are the heroines. Janardhanan, Jagathy Sreekumar and Vijayaraghavan play other prominent roles.

Ranji Panicker-Shaji Kailas films usually have punching dialogues and both these actors are known for their explosive dialogue delivery. Fans can expect another explosive film from Shaji Kailas.

The King and the Commissioner is expected to be another action thriller.
