Suriya the shining star of Kollywood is set to enter the film capital of country, Bollywood with the guiding hand Ram Gopal Varma.
The actor is currently the most successful young star in South Indian films as he has won the appreciation of the masses with his performances. Suryaâs latest film Ayan was successful at the box office. It was dubbed in Telugu and has received a good response from there too.
After hearing the storyline Suriya revealed that he agreed to star in Ram Gopal Varmaâs Bollywood film Raktha Charithra. The actor had been discussing with RGV for several months and zeroed in on this venture. Suriya is playing a character with negative shades for this venture.
Ram Gopal Varma is known for films like Sarkar and Company which went on to be huge blockbusters. Ram Gopal Varma has introduced many south Indian heroes including Chakravarthy, Nagarjuna and Mohanlal to Hindi cinema.
Earlier Surya was to act in a Tamil production for RGV but it didnât work out. Raktha Charith is based on Naxalite gang war. The movie is about late politician Paritala Ravi and his murder.
Vivek Oberoi will play the role of Paritala Ravi in this five hour lengthy film and will be released in two parts like the Hollywood hit Kill Bill. Surya is to appear in the climax of the first part and will be the protagonist in second part. The entire film will be shot at a stretch. The first part will be released in January 2010 and the second will hit the screen three months later.
Ratha Charithra is based on lives of two bigwigs of Andhra Pradesh; Parithala Ravi and Maatal Seruvu Suri. Vivek Oberai does the role of Paritala Ravi on whose life the movie is based on, Surya portrays the character of Maddalcheruvu Suri, and Paritala Raviâs opponent. Ram Gopal Varma had revealed the first look of Vivek before few months.
Surya is currently in the sets of K.S.Ravikumarâs project Aadhavan and will be doing Hariâs Singam. After finishing these projects Suriya will take up Ratha Charithra.
The actorâs earlier movie Ghajini, which was remade in Hindi had Bollywood actor Aamir Khan in the lead. This movie did well at the box office.
