Sarkar Colony is going to be a humorous movie depicting the life style of many government employees. Some of the Government employees do some side business to earn more even while they are serving the government. This trend among government service workers is being made as a theme for the upcoming Malayalam movie Sarkar Colony.

Kanchipurathe Kalyanam was made by Fazil-Jayakrishna team. Now, V.S Jayakrishna is going to have his independent directorial venture with this flick. Mukesh and Devayani are doing the leading roles in this film. Jagadeesh, Ashokan, Jagathy, Suraj, Salimkumar, Narayanankutty, Jaffer Idukki, Chandrasekharan, Kochupreman, Sajan Palluruthi, Bindu Panikkar, Sona Nair, Geetha Vijayan, Ambika Mohan and many others are in the supporting cast.

Sarkar Colony tells the story of some uncorrupted government employees who are living together in a colony. Sivaramakrishnan is working as a clerk in PWD department while his wife Padmini works in the same department as Engineer. There are problems between them due to this. Siva Rama Krishnan always tries to be superior at home while Padmini does the same at the office. He does not like to take any responsibilities; so always reject any promotion.

Another family is that of RTO officer Mukundan who is a very loyal to his job and never take any bribe although there is enough scope for that in his department. But his wife wishes to live more comfortably and creates problem citing people around them as examples.

Jaffer is another character who lives in the Sarkar Colony and works as an employee in Water Authority. He is a drunkard and will do any thing for a drink. He is known by the name 'Jamyam Jaffer'. The story of Sarkar Colony progresses through these characters.

Since both of them are uncorrupted, Siva Rama Krishnan and Mukundan tries to get some extra income by doing side businesses. A prominent person in the Multi-level marketing field 'Puthenpurakkal Padmanabha Pillai' ropes in these two people into his trap by giving them offers of becoming rich with in a short period.

Mukesh plays the role of Siva Rama Krishnan and Ashokan is Mukundan, while Puthenpurakkal Padmanabha Pillai's role is performed by none other than Jagathy Sreekumar. Devayani plays Padmini and Sona Nair plays Mukundan’s wife.

Sarkar Colony is produced by Rajeev Thampi under the banner of Amritha Productions. The film has completed shooting and the post production works are progressing. The film is expected to reach theatres in December.
