After gap of a couple of years, Mohanlal is back with the thriller specialist Shaji Kailas, for the film 'Red Chilies'.

Lot of discussions were going on the role done by Mohanalal. Some buzz is that he is police officer coming to investigate murder, he is a criminal lawyer and some he is the convict.

Story

In the film Mohanlal plays Omar, a multi-millionaire who is settled in Gulf and runs a popular FM station 919.1 in Kochi. Omar has impeccable personality with multi-lingual talents; he can speak English, Arabic and Malayalam fluently. Omar is techno savvy fun loving person who communicates through email with his nine FM Radio Jockeys known as Red Chilies, who all are madly in love with him.

Omar promises he will reveal his love for one of them On New Year eve. But in a terrible twist in the plot, they are murdered one after another!

A K Sajan's last script for Shaji Kailas 'Chinthamani Kola case' was one which featured notorious gang of campus girls leading the investigative trail in the film. In chintamani Kolacase it was Mirchi girls while in Red chilies the story is surrounded on 9 Radio Jockeys.

Idea Star Singer fame Ranjini Haridas plays the role of one radio jockey.

'Red Chilies' is produced by M Renjith under the banner Rejaputhra Movies. The movie is first planned as a Christmas release but postponed.
