Prithviraj and Padmakumar who shared a good rapport have rendered flicks like Vasthavam, Vargam and Ammakilikkoodu earlier. Prithviraj bagged a State award for the flick Vasthavam.

News was that, Prithviraj backed off from Padmakumar’s flick Pathiramanal saying that the script is very bad. Babu Janardhanan who had written the script for the movies Vasthavam, Thalappavu and Calendar had penned the script for this film too.

Prithviraj had given the dates earlier for this flick. Just before few days to commence shooting, the actor has backed out from the script. Calendar which was written by Babu Janardhanan failed at the box office. Now everything seems to be settled.

Padmakumar’s latest offering Parunthu was a disaster.

Pathiramanal the fourth film of the team centers on revenge. The story is about a private financer Jeevan, who lives in a hill station with his mother. His mother had become mentally challenged after she was raped by a police constable during Jeevan's childhood. His mother conceived from the rape and gave birth to a baby girl.

Jeevan hates the baby girl from the very moment of its birth. After he has grown up, Jeevan reaches Pathiramanal, a place in Kuttanad, in search of the constable to take revenge. There he meets Sara. He realizes that Sara is the daughter of the constable. The drama is what the film is about.

Pathiramanal will have shooting at Marayur and Alapuzha. Kalabhavan Mani will be the villain.

The heroine is not finalized. Others in the cast are Manikuttan, Nedumudi Venu, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Archana.

Gireesh Puthencherry has penned the lyrics and Sarath will score the music. Manoj Pillai will focus the camera.

Shooting is to commence very soon. Pathiramanal is produced by Shaji Nadesan under the banner of Bravo films.
