Ranjith's new film Pranchiyettan and the Saint is a film told through black humor and satire. The shoot for the film has started in early July in Trichur and will be completed soon. Mammootty would play a rice merchant Francis alias Pranchiyettan and Innocent will appear as the Saint.
National award winning actress Priyamani has given 18 days call sheet in which she match her acting skills with three time National award winner Mammootty. She has been lately seen in Mani Ratnam's Raavanan. Priyamani has earlier worked with Renjith in the film Thirakkatha, a film based on the life and times of late actress Srividya. Gossips are that Priyamani is looking north to grab some roles like her contemporary Asin and Trisha.
This film is produced by Capitol Theatres. Mammootty's Play House is distributing Pranchiyettan and the Saint which is releasing on September 10.
