After a long gap, director Fazil, who made memorable super hits like Manichithrathaazhu, Nokkethadooraththu Kannum Nattu, Pappayude Swantham Appoose, Aniyathipravu, Harikrishnans etc., makes a comeback with Mouse And Cat.

Fazil introduced many successful heroes including Mohanlal, Kunchakko Boban and several heroines to Mollywood. He is now introducing Aswathy, a final year student at St. Theresa's College, Ernakulam.

Even though Fazil had it in many early movies, he could not find much success in the box office lately. His Kai Ethum Doorathu and Mohanlal starrer film Vismayathumbathu were big letdowns. His last was a Tamil film Oru Naal Oru Kanavu (2005) starring Srikanth and Sonia Agarwal.

In Mouse And Cat Dileep is the hero. This is the first time Dileep does the leading role in a Fazil movie.

Fazil, who is famous for his different themes, is first time attempting a fully humorous subject for a film. The shooting of this Dileep starrer has begun before months.

The film revolves around two thieves Moses D. Samuel (Dilip) and Kunninmel Sankaran (Harisree Asokan), who habitually enjoys sumptuous meals at marriages without being invited. This is the nth time Harisree Asokan is doing the role of a thief.

Moses witnesses an accident where an over speeding car driven by a woman hits a child. Realizing it is lady's mistake, Moses asks to compensate the child. To escape from the predicament, the lady gives compensation. Later, it is found that the accident was a drama played by Moses and the child for money. This incident brings an interesting turning point in their lives, and the story gains acceleration.

Baby Nivedhitha does a very important character in the movie. Heroine Aswathy’s name in the film is Nandana Mouse And Cat also features Innocent, Jagadeesh, Harishree Ashokan, Salim Kumar, Janardhanan, Sudheesh, Anoop Chandran, Krishna Kumar and Sudheer.

The film was earlier slated to be released last December. It has been re-scheduled to Republic Day 2009, and now its postponed without announcing the date. It may hit the theatre for summer vacation.

Music director Ouseppachan will set music. The lyrics are written by Kaithapram.
