Debutant Director Aneesh Upasana directs the forthcoming movie 'Matinee' starring Maqbool Salman and Maithili in the leading roles.

AOPN Entertainments who produced Dulqar Salman's debutant movie 'Second Show', now presents another family member of Mammootty. Maqbool Salman is Mammotty's brother’s son.

Maithili presents a promising role in this flick. Matinee tells the story of two youngsters, who reaches Chennai with a dream of becoming a star in cinema. Najeeb (Maqbool Salman) comes from an orthodox Muslim family. His father is an ordinary merchant Moosahaji. He is in love with Sainaba.

Najeeb reaches Chennai in search of a job. There he meets Savithri, who is a good dancer and dreams of becoming a leading actress. She also comes from a poor family. Their paths cross and they face many hurdles.

Thalaivasal Vijay, Fathima Babu, Dinesh Nair, Indrans, Kalinga Sasi, Viju Kodungallur, Lena, Valsala Menon and Soju are the other people on the cast. Pappinu is the director of photography. Nikhil Venu is the editor.

Story and Screenplay are by Anil Narayanan. Ratheesh Vega is the music composer for the lyrics of Din Nath Puthenchery.

Matinee will reach screens by the end of the month.
