Megastar Mammootty's upcoming film Gaana Gandharvan which will be released late September is direccted by the popular stand-up comedy artist, actor and TV anchor Ramesh Pisharody. Mammootty plays the character of a Gaanamela singer, Kalasadhan Ullas, in this flick.

The film scripted by Pisharody and Hari P. Nair is produced by ICHAIS PRODUCTIONS and Ramesh Pisharody. The female lead in Gaana Gandharvan is played by debutant actress Vanditha Manoharan.

Mukesh, Manoj K Jayan, Mohan Jose, Innocent, Rafi, Arya, Sneha Babu, Sudheesh Karamana, Salim Kumar, Athulya, Shiney Sarah, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Chali Pala, Hareesh Perumanna, Suresh Krishna, Sunil Sukhada, Manian Pillai Raju, Prajodh Kalabhavan and Kunjan are in the cast of Gaana Gandharvan.

Lyrics are written by Rafeeq Ahmed and Santhosh Varma. Music is scored by Deepak Dev, Camera wielded by Alagappan and editing is done by Lijo Paul.

This is Ramesh Pisharody's second directorial venture, the first being 2017 comedy drama movie Panchavarnathatha starring Jayaram and Kunchacko Boban.

Gaana Gandharvan official launch was held at Kochi on 1 June 2019. Teaser released on September 4, 2019 and Trailer released on September 7, 2019.
