Lavakumar 1984 is an upcoming Malayalam movie starring debutant Arun Ouseppachan and Sruthi Laksmi in the lead roles. Arun Ouseppachan is Music Director Ouseppachan' son. Manikkuttan, Indrans, Thilakan, Sudheesh, Sivaji Guruvayur, Anoop Chandran, Niyas Becker, Krishnan Potti and Ambika are the other members of the cast.

The story of the film goes like this: Parameshwaranasan is a famous astrologer who is very accurate in his predictions. He wishes to make his son also an astrologer. Thus he names his son as Lavakumar.

Lava Kumar lives according to his parents wishes. But he was a different person at his college. He used to change his clothes in his friend Jerry's house and goes to college as Kumar. When he returns home, he will be his father's trustworthy son, who learns astrology. Lavakumar neither liked his name nor astrology. Since he was not in a position to disobey his father he continued studying astrology.

Lavakumar life changes with the arrival of Anjana. He and Anjana becomes lovers. Lavakumar quarrels with his father for Anjana. The happenings in Parameswaranasan's house after this forms the storyline.

Arun Ouseppachan acts as Lavakumar, Thilakan dons the role of the famous astrologer Parameshwaranasan. Ambika acts as Savithri, wife of Parameshwaranasan. Manikkuttan is Lavakumar's friend Jerry while Sruthi Lakshmi is Anjana. Anoop Chandran acts as Parameshwaranasan's helper Sambhu, while Indrans dons the role of superstar Prem T. Lal who consults Parameshwaranasan for everything in his life.
