Bala and Manoj K. Jayan are doing important roles in the female orientated film Kayam. Directed by Anil (of Anil Babu) under the banner Newline Movies tells the story of Thamara, Choonda and Sasi. Other casts include Aparna, Swetha Menon, Chembil Asokan, Seema G. Nair, Subair, Aniyappan, Anil Murali and Kottayam Nazeer.

New comer Viju Ramachandran has written story and screen play. Shooting commenced at Malampuzha on December 7.
