Kaminey â A stunning drama
Production: UTV Productions
Direction: Vishal Bharadwaj
Star-casts: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Amol Gupta and others.
Music: Vishal Bharadwaj
Hereâs the new incarnation of Hindi Cinema. On every frame, youâll feel thereâs something interestingly new. But youâve got to carefully watch every sequence and donât be too late for the show or else youâll not understand whatâs actually going on. Merely, when every filmmaker in Indian Film Fraternity does attempt on making Hollywood-fangled flick, Vishal Bharadwaj sets accomplishes with this task.
Michelangelo Antonio, Pedro Almodover, Quentin Tarantino and who else? Vishal Bharadwaj strikes straight into the list of these top-charting world cinema filmmakers, far-famed for setting trends with their unique style.
Vishal Bharadwaj redefines cinema with âKamineyâ. Itâs hard to say, everyone may like this flick. But, our kind advice is: watch this film, if you like, itâs fine or else make sure you like it. This is how a film should be made.
KAMINEY is about a pair of twin brothers, Charlie & Guddu (played by Shahid Kapoor). Charlie lisps (pronounces âFâ in place of âSâ) while Guddu has a stutter problem. They are as different as chalk and cheese. And they can't stand the sight of each other.
Till one fateful rainy night, their lives cross. Charlie gets mixed up in a deathly get rich quick scheme, while Guddu realizes that the love of his life, Sweetie (Priyanka Chopra), has unwittingly put a price on his head. It's a dark comic ride there on as the brothers are sucked into a world of drugs, guns and money. Their lives collide head on with the lives of gangsters, rebel soldiers, rogue politicians and crooked cops.
In the middle of this crazy adventure, the brothers have to run to protect themselves, their dreams, their love....
And most importantly, realize that all they have is each other.
Youâre sure to get awestruck after watching Shahid Kapoorâs performance. Wow! How did it happen all of a sudden transition with this guy, who never opted for violent themes? And now, thereâs no stopping for Shahid Kapoor has he shores on the line of leading actors of Khans and Kumars. On the pars, Priyanka Chopra shoots out a trenchant show. She outperforms her previous show in âFashionâ. Sheâs sure to gain the best awards for the season. Amol Gupta (Story and screenwriter of âTaare Zameen Parâ) kick-starts with a fantastic journey as an actor and heâs awesome on performance, especially during his culmination point.
Though you may feel slightly losing out your patience in penultimate sequences, the bloodcurdling drama in climax almost like âReservoir Dogsâ just pumps your heart more than the normal rate. A good beginning-awesome narration- perfect climax: Well, what else do you need while watching a flick.
Vishal Bharadwaj on his musical score scintillates on both songs and background. Especially, the number âDanta Daenâ is a bouncy pick that will keep repeating all throughout first half.
âKamineyâ is a film that you have got to watch it with our already mentioned advice: if you like, itâs fine or else make sure you like it.
Verdict: Colossally tremendous
Rating: 4/5
