Suresh Gopi is going up in ranks each time. From police constable to SI, from CI to IPS officer and now as IG.

Scenarist turned director B. Unnikrishnan is a studious person who study from his fall. After his crap script of Sivam, he graduated to Tiger with terrific dialogues and an above average investigative thriller. After his maiden as feature film director which was the average earner smart city he made Madambi with Mohanlal which put him in big league.

Unnikrishanan is back with the trigger happy Suresh Gopi once again and presented him the role of IG (Inspector General of Police).

IG will be scenarist B.Unnikrishnan’s third directorial venture, after ‘Smart City’ and ‘Madambi’.

The film is based on terrorism and its roots in Kerala. Film deals with how youth from Kerala are trained by LET in Pakistan and sent to be fidayeen.

Suresh Gopi’s character in the film is an inspiration from the much respected ATS chief Hemant Karkare, who probed the Malagou Blasts.

This police thriller is scripted by the director himself.

Cinematography is by Shyam Dutt. Film has Lakshmi and Jyothirmayi in key roles, along with an array of popular Malayalam stars like Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Devan, Govind Padmasuriya, Rajan P Dev, Aashish Vidhyarthi Subair, Nandhini, Anaida Nair and John Kokkan.

M. Jayachandran is the music director and Gireesh Puthencherry writes the songs.

The film will have Thiruvananthapuram as the prime location and the movie is expected to be completed in single schedule.

IG is produced by Mahe who had earlier produced the film Chess and Detective under the banner of Super Star films, and will be Gopi's Vishu release.
