Mammooty will play the hero in Shaji Kailas's Drona. The last time they got together was for Valiyettan, a blockbuster released in 2000. Before that the duo has combined for super hits like The King and The Truth.

Drona is scripted by AK Sajan, who will be doing his first film with the Mammootty. Megastar will play the role of a brilliant Brahmin mathematician and astrologer in the film; He is also well versed in architecture and vastu. His prophecies come true, leading to some atrocities which grips the audience.

Kaniha famous for her film Bhagyadevatha and also the heroine in magnum opus Pazhassi Raja will play the female lead in this film too. Navya Nair, Thilakan, Saikumar, Siddique and Manoj K Jayan are the other important members of the cast.

Mammootty will join the shoot after he completes Chattambinadu.

Drona will be in the banner Sunitha Productions and is produced by Aroma Mani.

The shooting of Dronar will start from November 1. Drona will be a different film from Shaji's usual movies. AK Sajan wrote the story for this movie which is based on horror back ground.
