Celluloid is a soon to be released Malayalam movie written and directed by Kamal. Celluloid has Prithviraj, Chandini and Mamta Mohandas in leading roles. Sreenivasan, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans, T G Ravi, Siddique, Irshad, Thampi Antony, Thalaivasal Vijay and Sreejith Ravi are also in the cast.

Celluloid is produced by Kamal and Ubaid under the banner of Prime Time Cinema. Director of Photography is Venu, editing is by K. Rajagopal. Rafeeq Ahmed and Engadyoor Chandrashekaran penned the lyrics and the music is scored by M Jayachandran.

Celluloid tells the story of Malayalam Cinema. Prithviraj appears in the role of J.C. Daniel, the pioneer of Malayalam cinema and Mamta comes in the role of Daniel's wife Janet. Earlier Samvrutha Sunil was supposed to do the role of Janet, but got replaced by Mamta.

The film is based on the novel 'Nashta Naayika' by Vinu Abraham and the biography of J. C. Daniel by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan. Nashta Naayika tells the story of P K Rossey, the first heroine of Malayalam cinema.

Celluloid is picturized in Mysore and Thiruvananthapuram.
