Kamal has made many successful films in the past including Unnikale oru Kadha Parayam, Kakkothikkavile Appooppanthadi, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, Ulladakkam, Mazhayethum Munpe, he has been churning out flops in a row. Now he is back with Aagathan having Dileep as hero.
Dileep has worked as an assistant to director Kamal before he shifted his focus to acting. They worked together recently in the forgettable Pachakkuthira.
Highlight of Aagathan is the casting which includes the introduction of Tamil super star Sathya Raj to Malayalam as retired Major General Hareendra Natha Varma. Hot lady Charmi is the heroine in this film. Charmi was earlier in Malayalam flick Kaattu chembakam directed by Vinayan. These imported actors gives a freshness to the film which also stars Biju Menon, Zareena Wahab, Lal, Innocent, Babu Namboothiri, Silpa Bala, Shamna, Aswin, Ambika Mohan and Reena Basheer.
Dileep dons the role of Gautham Menon, a software Engineer who lost members of his family in a terrorist attack. On his way to Bangalore he meets an MBA student Shreya.
Kamal and Kalavoor Ravi Kumar wrote dialogue and screen play for the story penned by director himself. Lyrics are by Kaithapram and Ouseppachan has tuned the music. Ajayan Vincent is behind the camera.
Under the banner of Via Media Entertainments, Mathew Joseph and Rafi Methar are producing the film. The film will hit theatres by the 21st of January 2010.
