Chettikulangara Kumbha Bharani is the most popular festival of the temple which has some unique rituals like Kuthiyottam and Kettukazhcha.
During the Kumbha Bharani festival, huge decorated forms of temple cars known as ?Kuthiras' (Horses), 'Therus' (Chariots) and huge idols of Bhima and Hanuman are displayed as Kettukazhcha. This festival attracts huge number of devotees to the temple.
Another major ritual is the Kuthiyottam, in which young boys between 8 to 14 years, does the ritual dance for which they are trained.
