Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) was established in Feb 1981 with 18.28% share by Government of India and 54.2% by Suzuki of Japan. Maruti is the biggest car manufacturer in India and leader in small car segment. Hyundai Motors India
Hyundai Motors India Limited (HIML) is the second largest car manufacturer in India. It is a wholly owned subsidiary by Hyundai Motors Company, South Korea.

Ford India Private Ltd
Ford Motor Company and Mahindra and Mahindra started a joint venture in 1995 with 50:50 share as Mahindra Ford India Limited (MFIL) and later Ford increased its share and now it is Ford India Pvt Ltd. Manufacturing plant is at Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai.
