Swami Vivekananda



Swami Vivekananda is the founder of Sri Ramakrishna math and the chief desciple of Sri Ramakrishna Parmahamsa.

He is considered to be a major force in the revival of Hinduism in modern India. The unknown monk of India suddenly leapt into fame at the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893, at which he represented Hinduism.

In his own motherland Vivekananda is regarded as the patriot saint of modern India and an inspirer of her dormant national consciousness. SWAMI VIVEKANANDA was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata.

Later he came under the influence of Ramkrishna Paramhamsa and became an icon, inspiring thousands of people all over the country. One of his inspiring quote is "Arise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached. "
