Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode

Government Medical College, Kozhikode (also known as Calicut Medical College) is a government medical college located in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. Established in 1957, it is one of the premier medical colleges in the state and is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medicine and surgery, nursing, and allied health sciences.

The college has a 1200-bed hospital with state-of-the-art facilities and provides quality medical education to students. The vast and sprawling Medical College complex is spread over an extensive area of 270 acres located in picturesque surroundings about 10 km from the heart of Calicut. It is affiliated to the University of Calicut and serves 2/5 of the population of Kerala. It has an annual intake of 100 students for MBBS course.

The latest addition to this hospital city is the Multistoried Specialty Complex inaugurated on 23rd September 2006.

The college also conducts in Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab technician training, training of Radiological Assistants and Ophthalmic Assistants. MSc.Nursing was started in the College of Nursing during 1997. The hospital is expected to be commissioned fully within next one year.
